Feeding Programmes. The Feeding Programmes are the backbone of CONTESA’s mission and achievements. Our first programme started on 1st July 2005 at Kabwe Church Family Mission with a budget of £300 a month feeding 190 orphans 3 meals a week. Over the past 4 years we have seen this programme expand both in terms of orphans and the number of meals per orphan a week. Over 700 orphans and disadvantaged children are now fed 5 meals per orphan a week. £25 will feed an orphan for a year. CONTESA also supports an under 5 feeding programme at Chawama Clinic, Lusaka. These children are badly affected with illnesses brought about or made worse by malnutrition. The children are fed nutritious foods to boost their weight and immunity. Read More |

Education Programmes Since the success of the initial feeding programme CONTESA has adopted the strategy of ‘feeding the body and mind’ through educational programmes which either complement the feeding programmes e.g. Kabwe Church Family Mission or which are put in place where orphan feeding programmes are not needed but where basic community education is urgently required e.g. Muchule Community School in Chipata and Messiah Mission, Lusaka. There are currently over 2,000 orphans and disadvantaged children being educated under the educational programmes. Read More |

Homebased Care Programme A Home Based Care Feeding programme commenced in November 2006, it provides funding to supplement feeding and medication for 40 families who, through varying illnesses were incapable of supporting themselves. Currently the programme costs £280 a month for 40 families and includes 6 children who are on ARVs and need additional food at the weekends. CONTESA has also funded 15 bicycles to help volunteers get around to see and help more families and also provide transportation for the very sick to go to hospital or clinic. Read More |

Memorial Projects. CONTESA has also completed two memorial projects, which were funded by CONTESA supporters who wished to have a memorial project to commemorate a loved one. Most of these are one off projects but there are two ongoing memorial programmes. Read More |
